Southwestern Randolph High School’s Beta Club has been busy!

During the summer, Megan Chamblee and Jamie Kent each were named National Beta Sponsor of the Year at the annual convention in Savannah, GA.

The school year began with collecting items for BackPack Pals for SWRHS students and Hydrating Our Heroes with water and sports drinks for local fire fighters.

In mid October, they spent a day of service making digital storybooks and bubbles and decorating tote bags for children at local shelters and for DSS.  They also collected hygiene items for teenagers in WV through the Generation for Hope program.

As our state was ravaged by two hurricanes, the Beta Club began collecting and delivering items for hurricane victims in Wallace, NC.

December brought Best Float Presentation at the Asheboro Christmas Parade with their float containing children’s toys made larger than life.

Betas continued their tradition of service through Cougar Crew, a mentoring partnership with Seagrove Elementary. In early January the Crew participated in a STEM day where they honed their engineering skills by building towers out of straws.

The SWRHS Beta Club is an organization that enhances local, state and national communities by acting on their four tenets: leadership, service, character and achievement.
