I am a 1990 graduate of Frostburg State University (located in Western Maryland) and I received my MEd from NCSU in 1996.  I have had National Board certification since 2005.

I was born in Michigan City, Indiana but spent most of my childhood in the Washington, DC area.  After going to college and teaching 4 years in Western Maryland, I moved to Raleigh to attend NCSU for graduate school.  Except for a brief move to Wisconsin, I have been teaching high school science in North Carolina since 1995.  My husband and I have lived and taught in Randolph County since 2006.
