Welcome to Southwestern Randolph High School! I am pleased to serve as one of two wonderful School Counselors at Southwestern Randolph High School. I serve students with last names ending in A-K. I am also the school coordinator for our 504 Program and Student Opportunities. I have been a school counselor for almost 20 years and feel blessed to be in a job where I believe I can make a difference.

I graduated from Eastern Randolph High School and went on to pursue my B.A. in Psychology from UNC-Wilmington. After two years at UNC-Wilmington, however, I decided I wanted to be closer to home. A lifelong dream had been to graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill, so I applied as a transfer student, got accepted and graduated two years later. I was proud to be the first in my family to graduate from college, so I have a passion for helping others be the first in their family if that is their desire. After a couple of years in the workforce, I decided to go back to school to obtain my Masters in Counselor Education from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University so that I could be a School Counselor. I have achieved the distinction of being a nationally certified school counselor through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. I am a School Counselor because I believe all students should be given the opportunity to pursue their dreams and the encouragement and support to do so. I look forward to working with each of you to help you move toward your goals, not only in high school, but beyond.
