2027–28 FAFSA Now Open
The 2027–28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open. Students planning to attend postsecondary education should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible to be considered for federal, state and institutional grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities and loans.

For North Carolina public high school seniors, FAFSA completion is an important next step after exploring NC College Connect, which provides eligible seniors with direct admission to colleges and universities where they already meet admissions requirements without the traditional application process. After reviewing and accepting their college offers, students should consider exploring the FAFSA to learn what financial assistance may be available to help make college more affordable.

Herff Jones will be on campus this Friday, September 11, to meet with Juniors and Seniors about class rings and graduation, respectively. Both meetings will take place in the Auditorium.

Juniors will meet first at 9:00 am.

Seniors will meet at 9:29 am.

If you are not usually on campus during this time, please make every effort to attend your class meeting!

The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a practice test for the SAT that also serves as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. It is a standardized digital test, co-sponsored by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), that students in grades 10 and 11 can take annually in October. The test measures essential Reading, Writing, and Math skills for college and career readiness, and scores can be used to get free, personalized SAT practice on Khan Academy and connect with scholarships.


The PSAT will be given online at SWRHS on Thursday, October 15th. If you would like to sign up to take the PSAT, there are 75 spots available. These spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with juniors receiving priority and sophomores filling any remaining spots in the order of registration. The cost of the PSAT is $20.00.

Would you or your business like to help us spread SWRHS Sunshine among our staff? We would love to have a Sunshine Cart for each month of school. You can donate funds, and we will do the shopping for you, or you can bring the items to us! We will walk around, gifting the staff with goodies. (Some previous carts have included donuts, baked goods, K-cups, individual bagged chips/snacks, drinks, and some even chose to pay for Kona Ice or coffee trucks to set up so each staff member could choose their treat.) We currently have all months available from August 2026 through June 2027. Just let us know what month you would like! *We have approximately 85 staff members.

This school year, students in all 17 elementary schools, all 6 middle schools and Eastern Randolph High School will be provided meals at no cost through the Community Eligibility Program. No free or reduced-price meal application is required for students attending these schools.

Meal prices for non-Community Eligibility schools, which includes all other high schools, are $1.25 for breakfast and $2.45 for lunch. If you believe your family would qualify for a reduced-price meal benefit, apply online at www.lunchapplication.com

If your family received a notification letter stating that all of your students are approved for meal benefits for the 2026-2027 school year, no application is required to be completed. Contact School Nutrition Services if any of your student's names are not listed on the letter.
